FOX reveals X Factor Premiere footage

Anxious to get the word of mouth moving for its X Factor premiere, FOX held an advance screening of the first episode last week in LA. Check out the footage below to hear what viewers thought of the experience.

Can't wait to see the X Factor USA premiere on Wednesday night!

X Factor USA premieres this Wednesday on FOX

After years of development The X Factor USA is finally set and ready to premiere on US televisions. FOX will usher in the return of Simon Cowell and his snarky commentary after nearly a year and a half in hiding while developing his new show.

Following the path of his former show, Idol, Simon will work with a panel of judges to find new talent across America. Joining him at the judges' table will be LA Reid, Paula Abdul, and Nicole Scherzinger. Steve Jones will be hosting the series.

Lots of comparisons between FOX's other show, American Idol, and X Factor, but Simon Cowell tells us the shows are very different. I'm not entirely convinced of that, but I sure am ready to start watching and see where it goes!

According to the X Factor 2011 schedule, we'll be treated to several weeks of audition events tapped in front of a live audience. After that the finalists will be narrowed down and divided in to smaller groups. Those groups will be assigned to one of the four judges who will mentor them ahead of the live competitions. No word yet on which group will go to which judge, but I'm guessing Simon will get the young women as he's anxious to see one win this year.

The X Factor premiere season will run a little shorter than we're used to. After starting in late September the series will end just 3 months later in late December. I imagine the network doesn't want to have to straddle the Christmas break for TV and then compete with the launch of American Idol right after that.

Settle in and get ready for the new series this Wednesday at 8PM ET.
